Upload & Rights Agreement
When you upload a recording to , you check a box confirming that you own or control the rights to that recording. In plain language, here is what you are telling us:
1. It's your recording to share
You made the recording, or you have permission from everyone who has a stake in it. That includes:
- The master recording — the actual audio file. If a label, producer, or bandmate co-owns it, you have their OK.
- The underlying song (composition and lyrics). If you recorded a cover of someone else's song, uploading that recording here generally requires permission you probably don't have — use the YouTube/Spotify/Apple Music link option instead, so playback happens through the official, licensed player.
- Any samples in the track are cleared, or are used under a license that allows this kind of distribution.
2. What you're letting us do with it
You give a non-exclusive license to host the file, stream it to listeners inside battles and on your profile, and display your song title and artist name alongside it. You keep all ownership of your music. You can ask us to remove a song at any time.
3. What we don't do
- We don't take any ownership of your recording or your songwriting.
- We don't sell or sublicense your audio to third parties.
- We don't pay out (and never charge) points — all points and badges on the platform are cosmetic status with no monetary value.
4. If you weren't allowed to upload it
If it turns out an upload infringes someone else's rights, we will remove it under our DMCA / takedown policy, and repeat infringers will lose access to the platform. You are responsible for the consequences of uploading material you didn't have the rights to.
5. Linked songs (YouTube / Spotify / Apple Music)
If you paste a YouTube, Spotify or Apple Music link instead of uploading, we do not host the audio at all — we embed the official player from that platform, and playback is governed by that platform's own terms and licensing.
